Communion to the Sick
For those who are shut-in or recovering from surgery or an illness, please notify the parish office for an appointment if you wish to receive this sacrament before surgery or during an illness.
Perpetual Adoration
St. Mary’s Hospital Chapel, 1800 E. Lake Shore Drive, is available for prayer and adoration 24 hours a day, everyday. (Between 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM a code is needed for entry.) If you would like to sign up for a specific time, see the contact person listed in the parish contact directory.
Eucharistic Adoration
Adoration is available every Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in St. Anne’s Chapel, here at Our Lady of Lourdes.
Anyone is welcome to come at any time during the day to pray.
Reconciliation
Saturday – 11:00 AM and any time by appointment. During Advent and Lent the priests of the Decatur Deanery offer several opportunities for this Sacrament at the different parishes. There is a communal prayer service followed by individual confessions.
Anointing of the Sick
Anointing of the Sick is offered to those in need of healing from mental, emotional or physical difficulties and is offered as needed on an individual basis (especially for pre-surgery) by calling the rectory or on a Communal basis, during Mass, several times throughout the year. Please watch the bulletin for dates it will be offered.
Baptism
Saturdays after 4:30 PM Mass, Sundays at 2:00 PM or during any Mass by request. Welcoming new members into our parish family is a particularly special moment for our parish. In order to be spiritually prepared, we offer Pre-Baptism Classes as a prerequisite for reception of this Sacrament of New Life in Jesus Christ. During this time all the necessary arrangements will be made to make your family's baptismal celebration a joyous occasion.
Confirmation
This sacrament is celebrated every other year for students in the 7th and 8th year of grade school. The sacrament is taught by a team of Catechists. The candidates have required service hours and during the year will attend a full day retreat and one half day retreat. Confirmation is celebrated by the Bishop in Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
Marriage
A wedding is a special time of God’s Grace. If you are contemplating marriage, please contact one of the Parish Priests no later than six (6) months prior to the proposed date of the wedding. The priest will meet with the prospective bride and groom and fully explain the guidelines surrounding this Sacrament of Love. Pre-Cana Class is offered twice a year, the Saturday before Palm Sunday and the fourth Saturday of October.
